Grid-tied, hybrid or off-grid
Three families answer three situations. A grid-tied inverter exports everything and shuts down the moment the grid fails — so it secures nothing. A hybrid inverter manages generation, batteries and grid, switching over with no noticeable interruption. An off-grid converter supplies a site with no connection at all.
Where the grid is unstable, hybrid is almost always the right answer: it removes the generator from the equation on brief outages — the ones that reboot equipment without ever justifying a genset start.
Sizing is not just peak power. The ratio between array and inverter rating, the number and voltage window of the MPPT inputs, temperature tolerance without derating, and behaviour on inductive start-up — motors, pumps, compressors — decide the outcome as much as the kilowatts do.
We always include monitoring: without measurement, a drop in output goes unnoticed for months.
