Monocrystalline yields more per square metre and copes better with heat; polycrystalline costs less per watt installed. The choice therefore comes down to the surface available: where roof space is tight, monocrystalline earns back its premium; where space is plentiful, polycrystalline often remains the better value.

In the Congolese climate, two figures matter more than the efficiency quoted in the lab. First the temperature coefficient: a module loses power as it heats, and a panel in full sun runs well above the 25 °C of test conditions. Then resistance to humidity and salt mist, decisive along the Pointe-Noire coast, where a poorly chosen frame or junction box degrades within a few seasons.

We therefore select modules whose datasheets stand up on both counts, and we plan cleaning access from the layout stage: dry-season dust costs several points of output on an array that cannot be reached.
